OSHA 30 Hours General Industry

The OSHA 30 hours certification in general industry is mainly focused in making the middle management and lower management professionals towards positive health and safety management systems. The main content of this OSHA 30 hour general industry certification program generalizes in OSHA policies, procedures and standards of 29 CFR Part 1910.


Therefore as a part of this OSHA certification program for general industry, the learners will gain knowledge and primary understanding of health and safety management system in their workplace. One of the important topics that, every leaner will learn is the roles and responsibilities of employer as well as employees in a workplace.

Learning outcomes:

  • The learners will understand the OSHA as an awarding body, what it does and other functions. The roles and responsibilities of employees at all levels in the workplace.
  • Students will be able to learn methods and procedures for preventing the accidents as well as injuries for employees and every others of an organization.
  • OSHA certification learners will be able to acknowledge the importance of doing regular inspections in the workplace.
  • Know the necessity of fire safety management, manual handling and fall protections when involved in work with critical hazards. As per OSHA standards what are preventions and controls that can be put in place to minimize these hazards and risks.
  • Understand how the communication is important in the health and safety management system. Also how wrong communication or no communication of sensitive information can lead to chaos in the workplace.
  • Will learn about the confined spaces as in what constitutes a confined space and how will the control measure protect the individuals working inside the confined space. Finally, the permit system that is followed in a confined space.
  • Understand why the industrial vehicles must be managed inside as well as outside the workplace and the factors leading them in the accident/ incidents/ near misses.

The learning modules is distributed among the hours arranged for the topics

  • Mandatory - 13 hours – the topics are provided and are fixed.
  • Elective – 10 hours – this involves topics of choosing among given options
  • Optional - 7 hours – topics in the general industry hazards

Optional 7 hours:

Can teach any general industrial hazards or health and safety policies or can expand the mandatory and elective topics discussed above. Each topic must be presented an hour and half.

Assessment:

Once all the learning hours are successfully completed then the learners will have written exam for OSHA 30 hour general industry certification in multiple choice question format. The learners must score 70% and above to pass as well as for certification processing.


Recertification:

This OSHA 30 Hour certification in general industry has no expiry. Although it’s not mandatory, yet it is advised for the learners to retake the certification after 5 years for knowledge refreshment and updates.
